We are seeking a motivated and personable Solicitor to join our Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance Litigation team in Sydney, supporting the continued growth of a busy and well‑regarded practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer looking to contribute meaningfully to a long‑term practice, develop strong client relationships, and take the next step in their career within a team that values culture, confidence and commitment as much as legal capability.
This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer looking to contribute meaningfully to a long term practice, develop strong client relationships, and take the next step in their career within a team that values culture, confidence and commitment as much as legal capability.
About the Team
Our Sydney insurance litigation practice advises insurers and acts for insureds across a broad range of general insurance matters including public liability, property damage, construction related claims, real estate agents, health practitioners, lawyers, marine incidents and policy coverage advice.
You will be supervised by experienced practitioners who are committed to mentoring and development.
The Role
You will support the team across a varied caseload of litigious insurance matters, working closely with partners and senior lawyers while progressively taking on greater responsibility. The role offers hands on exposure to court work and client matters, with opportunities to build advocacy, drafting and matter management skills in a supportive environment.
You will be encouraged to get involved in business development and client initiatives at an appropriate level, including attending client events and contributing to the growth of the practice as your confidence and experience develop.
This position would suit someone who:
- Is seeking a long term opportunity and is keen to grow with a developing practice
- Is motivated by learning, progression and increased responsibility over time
- Enjoys working with clients and is comfortable building professional relationships
- Is interested in developing their profile through networking and firm initiatives
About You
We are open minded on background and place a strong emphasis on cultural fit, attitude and potential, rather than a narrow insurance specialisation.
You will ideally have:
- Around 2+ years’ PQE
- Litigation experience with a preference for some exposure to insurance matters , or a plaintiff background with a genuine interest in insurance litigation
- Developing drafting and analytical skills, with a willingness to take ownership of matters with appropriate guidance
- A confident, approachable manner and strong communication skills
- An interest in participating in client events and business development activities as part of your professional development
Experience across different insurance lines or non-insurance litigation is welcome, as a general insurance foundation will be supported and built on within the role.
Why Join Us?
- A clear pathway for career progression
- Exposure to high quality matters with real courtroom and client experience
- A collaborative, supportive team culture
- Opportunities to help shape and grow the practice
- Sydney based role with strong partner access and mentorship
