The Opportunity
At McInnes Wilson Lawyers, we continue to invest in our CTP practice as part of our broader national growth. Recognised by the Australian Financial Review as one of the Top 30 Fastest Growing Firms, we offer the scale, stability and sophistication of a national firm while maintaining a genuinely collaborative and personable culture.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Sydney-based NSW CTP team, working closely with a strong and established client base. Our Sydney CTP practice is well regarded in the insurance market and acts for leading insurers and self-insured clients on a broad range of statutory motor accident claims.
This role will suit an experienced CTP lawyer who enjoys running their own matters end-to-end, appearing regularly, and partnering with clients to deliver commercial, strategic outcomes. You will work on a diverse and interesting mix of matters, including both straightforward and complex claims, and play a key role in the continued growth of the NSW CTP practice.
You will have direct access to an experienced Principal, providing mentoring, support and guidance as you continue to develop your technical expertise, strategic thinking and leadership capability. At the Senior Associate level, you will also be encouraged to mentor junior lawyers, contribute to knowledge-sharing across the team, and be actively involved in shaping how matters are run and clients are serviced.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 5+ years’ post-admission experience in NSW CTP / insurance litigation
- Strong technical capability with the ability to run a full CTP file load autonomously
- Experience appearing in the PIC and Courts, including conferences, directions hearings and procedural events
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to claims management and client outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients and stakeholders
- Experience mentoring junior lawyers, or a genuine interest in developing others
- A collaborative mindset, sound judgment, strong attention to detail and a high standard of professional ethics
Your New Team
You will be joining a high-performing, supportive CTP team that values teamwork, open communication and practical problem-solving. The team works closely together, sharing knowledge and experience to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes for clients.
With a mix of senior practitioners and developing lawyers, the team offers an environment where you can both lead and continue to learn, supported by ongoing professional development, structured mentoring and exposure to quality work.
We place strong importance on culture—our people are approachable, respectful and invested in each other’s success. Your contribution will be valued, and your voice will be heard.
