About the role

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Paralegal to join our Disputes & Insolvency team in Brisbane. We’re open to this role being full time or part time, with flexibility for a part time hours arrangement.

You will work closely with experienced Principals and solicitors on a broad range of commercial litigation and insolvency matters, supporting some of the firm’s key clients. Based in our Brisbane Head Office, this is a great opportunity to further develop your litigation skills within a collaborative and fast paced practice.

Working as part of a high performing team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting solicitors with debt recovery and insolvency matters, including winding up applications, creditor petitions and bankruptcy notices
  • Conducting legal research and preparing draft correspondence, pleadings and affidavits
  • Managing matter documentation and maintaining accurate and up to date electronic files
  • Liaising with clients, courts, counsel, external solicitors and other stakeholders
  • General file and practice support, including file openings and closures, bring ups and end of month billing
  • Providing support across the team as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and keen to build their career in disputes and insolvency.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a litigation paralegal role, with an interest in debt recovery or insolvency work
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of work
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with iManage and/or Practice Evolve (advantageous but not essential)
