Description

As a membership organisation with over 10,000 members, they are our number one priority.  Working within a supportive team of 2, you will be a trusted advisor, providing accurate and timely advice predominantly over the phone or via email to our members.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting our industry to navigate its employment and industrial obligations. No two days will look the same, and may include:

  • Interpreting Modern Award and enterprise agreement conditions
  • Drafting and preparing advice around Individual Flexibility Agreements and employment contracts
  • Coaching members on disciplinary and termination processes
  • Bargaining and employee consultation
  • Providing support to other Advisors, including assistance with advocacy, research activities and member education.

What you will bring to the team

While you will be supported and mentored on more complex matters, a level of autonomy is expected, requiring you to draw upon your existing experience to provide timely and accurate advice. You will likely have:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Law, Human Resources, Business, Commerce or similar)
  • Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other employment relation legislations
  • Working experience interpreting Modern Awards, drafting employment contracts and IFA’s.
  • Demonstrated skills in providing advice or coaching on performance management and employee terminations.
  • Sound mathematical skills
  • Ability to deliver technical advice in a manner that is practical and easy to understand.  

While not essential, construction industry experience would be highly regarded.
