Organisation Overview
Market West, The Chamber of Fruit & Vegetable Industries
in Western Australia Inc, is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation
representing fruit and vegetable wholesalers operating within the Perth Markets
in Canning Vale. Market West supports the WA fresh produce supply chain and
delivers programs, communications and events that add value to members, retailers
and industry stakeholders.
Role Purpose
The Marketing Associate – Retail Programs & Member
Services supports the Retail Programs & Marketing Manager to deliver Market
West’s retail programs, member services, marketing and events. It is a hands-on,
field-facing role focused on growing and supporting the A Better Choice! retail
program, providing responsive day-to-day service to members, retailers and
wholesalers, and assisting with content, digital channels and major events
including the annual Market West Ball.
The position suits a motivated, early-career marketing
professional looking to build experience across program delivery,
communications and stakeholder engagement within the fresh produce and retail
sector.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Programs – A Better Choice!
· Engage and recruit independent fruit &
vegetable retailers into the A Better Choice! program and guide new retailers
through a smooth onboarding process.
· Co-ordinate the distribution and delivery of
marketing assets and point-of-sale (POS) materials to participating retailers
and market buyer bays, ensuring timely delivery.
· Conduct regular in-store and market visits to
build relationships, provide support, gather feedback and champion the
program’s benefits – representing the A Better Choice! brand with energy and
professionalism.
· Collect and organise in-store photos of POS
displays to verify that A Better Choice! branding is consistently and
attractively presented, following up any compliance issues as needed.
· Provide responsive, day-to-day support to
retailers and wholesalers involved in the program, addressing enquiries and
helping ensure their success and satisfaction.
· Support program campaigns and activations such
as Shop & Win, the People’s Choice Awards and the Retailer of the Year
(ROTY) program, including co-ordinating secret shopper visits.
Member Services
· Act as a responsive first point of contact for
Market West members, supporting them to make the most of the organisation’s
services for their business.
· Assist with member engagement and
communications including preparing member EDMs and updates.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date member and
retailer contact records across Market West’s systems.
Marketing, Digital & Content
· Assist in creating, scheduling and distributing
monthly newsletters and EDMs through Hubspot.
· Prepare content suitable for social media and
website posting, keeping a finger on the pulse of social media trends and fresh
produce seasonality to contribute content ideas.
· Support Market West’s social media presence
across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
· Assist with content updates to the Market West
website.
· Support the development of marketing
performance reports, including tracking key metrics.
· Produce simple marketing creative using tools
such as Canva and CapCut.
Events
· Support the Retail Programs & Marketing
Manager with planning and executing industry events, including the Market West
Ball (incl. Retailer of the Year), Hort Connections and the Cherry Auction.
· Assist with event logistics, materials,
attendee co-ordination and on-the-day support.
General
· Help maintain Market West’s contact lists and
communications tools (HubSpot, ClickSend and Outlook).
· Other tasks and responsibilities as requested
by the Retail Programs & Marketing Manager or CEO, consistent with
capabilities and available time.
Qualifications and Experience
· Marketing graduate, or 1-2 years’ experience in
marketing, communications, business or a related field.
· Strong digital marketing, social media, written
and verbal communication skills.
· Highly professional and organised, with good
attention to detail, digital fluency and time management.
· Confident engaging with stakeholders face-to-face.
· A positive, proactive, hands-on attitude and a
willingness to learn.
Highly Desirable
· Demonstrable experience and skills with Canva,
CapCut and HubSpot.
· Demonstrable interest in retail, FMCG and/or
fresh produce.
· Knowledge of fruit and vegetable retail and
wholesale environments, including independent retailers.
Other Requirements
· Current, valid WA driver’s licence.
· Own reliable vehicle that is registered,
insured & maintained (motor vehicle allowance for work use).
· Current working rights in Australia (citizen,
permanent resident, or suitable visa).
· Satisfactory National Police Clearance issued
within the last six (6) months.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
