Your Role

As a Senior Corporate Counsel – Project Delivery, you’ll be a key point of contact for the Legal & Governance team, providing high-quality, independent and timely commercial legal advice to support the delivery of the Marinus Link Project.

You’ll:

·       Provide fit-for-purpose commercial legal advice across project delivery activities, including the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of contracts and other legal documents.

·       Support the Project Delivery team by advising on contractual, regulatory, governance and risk matters relating to project construction, financing, approvals and delivery activities.

·       Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, contractual counterparties, regulators, government agencies and external legal advisors to support effective project outcomes.

·       Coordinate external legal advisors, including preparing scopes of work, managing budgets and monitoring the delivery of legal services.

·       Assist with the development and maintenance of contract administration guidance, precedents, processes and legal support frameworks.

·       Identify and manage legal risks by providing practical solutions and supporting informed decision-making across the project.

You’ll Need

·       A degree in Law and a current Victorian or Tasmanian legal practising certificate (or eligibility for admission in Victoria or Tasmania).

·       A minimum of 7 years’ post qualification legal experience gained within private practice or an in-house commercial environment.

·       Demonstrated experience providing commercial legal advice and supporting large infrastructure project delivery.

·       Strong contract negotiation, drafting and interpretation skills, with the ability to provide practical, commercially focused advice.

·       The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and confidently engage with senior stakeholders across a complex project environment.

·       Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.

·       Experience supporting electricity generation, transmission infrastructure or major capital projects will be highly regarded.

·       A high level of computer literacy.
