Internal Opportunity – FT OOHC House Supervisor (6-Month Pilot Program)

MADEC is seeking expressions of interest for two full-time OOHC House Supervisors to support a 6-month pilot program as part of our ongoing service development and workforce model evolution.

This role replaces the previous OOHC Coordinator position held by Karly and represents an important step in trialling a hybrid service model, combining both site-based and office-based leadership functions.

Work locations are PRIM and WALL.

About the Opportunity:

As part of MADEC’s long-term strategic direction, we are piloting a hybrid coordination and supervision model that strengthens frontline practice leadership, improves responsiveness at the house level, and enhances overall service quality.

The OOHC House Supervisor will play a key role in:

  • Embedding Frontline Practice Leadership (FPL) within residential houses
  • Providing on-the-ground leadership, coaching, and oversight
  • Supporting consistent, safe, and therapeutic care for children and young people
  • Strengthening team capability, culture, and accountability
  • Ensuring strong risk management, compliance, and safeguarding practices

This pilot will help inform the future structure of OOHC services, including the balance between site-based House Supervisors and office-based Coordinators.

Key Features of the Role:

  • Approximately 60% frontline / site-based leadership and 40% coordination and administrative responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of residential teams, including Team Leaders and Youth Workers
  • Active involvement in practice observation, coaching, and modelling
  • Oversight of house operations, documentation, incidents, and risk management
  • Collaboration with OOHC leadership, Child Safety, and external stakeholders

Who Should Apply:

We are looking for internal candidates who:

  • Have experience in OOHC, residential care, or youth services
  • Demonstrate strong practice leadership and coaching capability
  • Are confident managing risk, behaviours, and complex environments
  • Can balance operational demands with quality and safeguarding
  • Are aligned with MADEC’s values and committed to continuous improvement

This opportunity is well suited to individuals looking to:

  • Step into a leadership role with greater frontline impact
  • Build capability in hybrid service delivery models
  • Contribute to shaping the future structure of OOHC services at MADEC

Pilot Program Details:

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Purpose: Trial and evaluate a hybrid supervision and coordination model
  • Outcome: Insights will inform long-term workforce and service design

How to Apply:

Please submit a brief expression of interest outlining:

  • Your relevant experience
  • Why you are interested in the role
  • What you believe you would bring to the pilot
