Description

Macro Metals Limited | West Perth | Permanent, Full-Time

Macro Metals is an ASX-listed Western Australian mining and mining services company built on discipline, integrity and doing what we commit to. As we bring our finance function fully in-house, we’re hiring a Finance Systems Accountant to be the operational and systems engine behind it.

The role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll own day-to-day finance operations and the finance technology stack — Xero, ApprovalMax and Syft. Your focus is running a clean, well-controlled operation while systematically replacing manual spreadsheets with automated, repeatable reporting — freeing the Financial Controller to concentrate on statutory and strategic work. This is a genuinely hands-on role with the scope to shape how the function operates from the ground up.

What you’ll own

  • End-to-end AP/AR, bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance across all group entities
  • Payroll, superannuation and accurate employee records
  • BAS, IAS and payroll tax lodgements, plus FBT and superannuation compliance
  • Administration of the Xero / ApprovalMax / Syft stack and approval workflows
  • Building automated reporting packs, dashboards and KPIs to replace manual spreadsheets
  • Rolling cashflow forecasts and support for the annual budget cycle
  • Audit-ready records supporting statutory reporting and the external half-year review

What we’re looking for

  • CA/CPA qualified, or strong qualified-by-experience
  • Proven hands-on finance operations across multiple entities (AP/AR, payroll, BAS/IAS)
  • Strong hands-on Xero experience; working knowledge of ApprovalMax and a reporting tool such as Syft
  • A genuine automation mindset — a track record of designing manual work out of the function
  • Advanced Excel, balanced by a clear preference for moving work into the finance stack
  • Exposure to an ASX-listed and/or resources environment (desirable)

Why Macro

Join a values-driven business where integrity, accountability and saying it straight are how we operate, not slogans. You’ll build a finance function from the ground up, work directly with senior leadership, and see your systems and automation work make a tangible, lasting difference.

Inclusion

Macro is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace and to building genuine, long-term Indigenous partnerships. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and candidates of all backgrounds.
