About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team based in Maroochydore.
Reporting to the Financial Manager and working closely with the broader finance team, you’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting, performing reconciliations, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable activities.

What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger transactions
- Prepare journals. accruals and supporting schedules
- Support month end close and reporting processes
- Assist with KPI reporting, billing agent reporting and regulatory submissions
Reconciliations & Controls
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform bank account, credit card and AP2U reconciliations
- Investigate discrepancies and maintain supporting documentation
- Support strong internal controls and compliance standards
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support
- Process supplier and customer invoices
- Maintain customer and vendor master data
- Assist with outstanding invoice follow-up and account queries
- Ensure compliance with approval workflows and company policies
Audit & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain audit ready documentation and schedules
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows and reporting efficiency
About You
You are organised, proactive and highly accurate, with a genuine interest in building your accounting career.
You’ll also bring:
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similar role
- Exposure to reconciliations, journals and month-end support
- Experience with AP/AR processes
- Strong Excel and accounting system skills (Xero, MYOB or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- A collaborative approach and strong communication skills
Qualifications
- Degree qualified or currently studying Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
