About Us
Loop IQ is a purpose-built intelligence platform helping care organisations move beyond fragmented spreadsheets and manual reporting — delivering the accuracy, auditability, and confidence that regulated environments demand. Alongside the platform sits our strategic consulting wing, guiding organisations through implementation and optimisation so the technology delivers from day one.
Why work at Loop IQ?
Build something that matters — We’re solving a real problem in a sector that affects millions of Australians. The work you do here has a direct line to better outcomes in aged care.
Grow with intention — We invest in our people through dedicated learning budgets, performance bonuses, and genuine wellbeing support — because great work starts with great people.
A culture worth showing up for — We’re a small, high-trust team that values different perspectives, moves fast, and communicates openly. There’s no politics here, just good people doing meaningful work.
Rare access, real impact — We operate at the intersection of health data, government, and enterprise. The market access and relationships we’ve built are genuinely hard to find at this stage of a company.
About the Role
We’re looking for a mid-level UX/UI Designer to raise the visual bar across the Loop IQ platform and marketing surfaces. This is a UI-heavy role focused on visual polish, design system maturity, and brand consistency — the kind of work that turns a functional product into one that feels premium and trustworthy in the hands of executives, regulators, and clinical leads.
This is a 6-month contract role. Melbourne-based candidates are preferred, with a minimum of two days per week in our Melbourne office — but we’re open to strong candidates from elsewhere in Australia working remotely. We’re happy to consider full-time or a 4-day (0.8 FTE) arrangement — whichever works better for the right person.
This is a role for someone with strong visual craft, a real appreciation for design systems, and the ability to translate brand into interface without losing usability along the way. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and marketing — and you’ll ship.
Please note: we will only consider applications that include a portfolio. Applications without a portfolio link or attached work samples will not be reviewed.
A Day in the Life
Your work will span product UI, design system stewardship, and brand-adjacent surfaces. One day you might be designing screens for a new module and pushing them through to a Figma prototype for stakeholder review; the next, you’re refining component states in the design system, tightening typography across marketing pages, or pairing with engineering on a tricky interaction. You’ll take rough flows or PRDs from product and turn them into polished, on-brand interfaces — and you’ll help lift the overall design maturity of a small, fast-moving team.
What You’ll Do
- Design polished, on-brand UI for new and existing Loop IQ platform features — from screens through to interaction states
- Own and evolve the Loop IQ design system: components, tokens, typography, spacing, iconography, states
- Translate PRDs, product briefs, and rough flows into high-fidelity Figma designs ready for engineering handoff
- Maintain visual consistency across the product, marketing site, sales collateral, and customer-facing documentation
- Prototype interactions in Figma for stakeholder review and lightweight usability testing
- Partner with engineering on implementation — reviewing built UI, refining details, and keeping the shipped product true to the design
- Support marketing and sales with brand-aligned visuals for landing pages, release notes, and demo materials
- Contribute UX judgement where it counts — spotting flows that will confuse users, and pushing back with a better alternative
- Document design decisions, patterns, and usage guidelines so the system holds up as the team grows

- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including auto-layout, variables, components, and prototyping
- Comfortable translating brand into interface, and interface into brand — without losing usability

- Hands-on experience maintaining a component library at production scale

- Clear communicator — able to explain design decisions to product, engineering, and non-design stakeholders
- Comfortable working from PRDs, product briefs, or loose direction and turning them into something concrete
Ways of Working
- Strong ownership mindset — takes pride in the quality of what ships, not just what’s designed
- Detail-oriented and comfortable holding a high visual bar
- Comfortable in an Agile environment (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives)
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working across functional boundaries — with product, engineering, marketing, and sales
- Demonstrated AI literacy, including practical experience using AI tools responsibly in a professional context (e.g. AI-assisted prototyping or ideation)
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with the health or aged care sector
- Experience designing for regulated industries or data-dense enterprise products (dashboards, analytics, reporting)
- Motion or micro-interaction design skills
