The Role
Ready to kick-start or grow your HR career? This is your chance! As our new HR Assistant, you’ll get your hands on the full employee lifecycle – from recruitment and onboarding right through to offboarding. This role is part-time or full-time based on the successful candidate’s availability and is a genuinely learning-focused role for an entry-level candidate where you’ll gain real, practical experience across the breadth of human resources.
You’ll be working closely with our HR team and reporting to the Chief People Officer, with exposure to:
- Recruitment support – posting ads, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks
- Onboarding and offboarding workflows that set employees up for success
- Employee data and HRIS management via Employment Hero
- HR documentation – employment agreements, variation letters, statements of service, and more
- Supporting employee relations, performance, and disciplinary processes
- Probation review coordination and compliance support
- OHS audits, incident reports, and wellbeing initiatives
- Project work as directed by the Chief People Officer
Who Are You?
You’re organised and genuinely passionate about people. You’re the kind of person who takes pride in getting the details right and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary or Certificate qualifications in Human Resources (or nearing completion)
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities
- The ability to multitask, adapt, and stay cool under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- A commitment to confidentiality and high-level HR support
- A solid understanding of HR functions and best practices
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with HR information systems (Employment Hero experience a plus!)
- An understanding of basic employment principles or workplace legislation
- Previous exposure to recruitment processes
