The Opportunity
This is not your average data leadership role. As our Head of Data, you’ll be the architect of our data future – owning strategy, governance, and innovation across the full data stack. You’ll work directly with the CTO and key business leaders to shape how data drives decisions, competitive advantage, and growth across the entire organisation.

What You’ll Do
- Define and drive a comprehensive data strategy aligned with Localsearch’s broader business objectives
- Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance
- Design and oversee our data architecture – including data warehouses, data lakes, ETL pipelines, and BI layers
- Champion data quality through robust management practices and regular audits
- Lead business intelligence initiatives – deploying analytics tools and dashboards that surface actionable insights
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver meaningful solutions
- Evaluate and implement best-in-class data management and analytics technologies
- Drive innovation by staying ahead of emerging trends and embedding new methodologies into operations
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Data Analysts
Who You Are & What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in data management, analytics, or BI within the digital marketing or technology sector
- At least 3 years of hands-on data architecture experience across the BI stack (warehousing, data lakes, ETL, ODS, DDS, Data Mart, and Visualisation)
- Mandatory: hands-on proficiency with SQL and stored procedures
- At least 3 years leading and managing a team of BI and data professionals
- Proven experience building data governance frameworks and maintaining data quality at scale
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate data into business value
- Excellent communication skills – able to present complex data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative by nature – comfortable working across teams to deliver relevant data solutions
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, IT, Statistics, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, AWS RDS, Matillion, Python, or CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to Claude/Cortex/AI and emerging AI-driven analytics capabilities
- A track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in data operations
