Summary

This is a fixed-term parental leave cover for 12 months from August 2026 – a hybrid role with 2-3 days at home and 2-3 days at our Port Kembla office. During this time, the Team Leader will work closely with employees, families, and community stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality care and education delivery aligned with Lifestart’s mission to enhance outcomes for children and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of early childhood educators, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care and education.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate programmes that promote children’s learning and development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and the community, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Port Kembla based office, minimum 2 days per week.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience of working as a Partner in the Community
  • A relevant qualification in early childhood education, such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Experience working in a leadership role within an early childhood setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
