Lifeline Australia is a national suicide prevention charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope. This is achieved through a partnership of over 10,000 committed volunteers and their member centres in communities across the nation.
Lifeline Australia Ltd (LLA) is located in Sydney, with small teams of dedicated staff employed to lead funding and corporate relations activities, and to provide the design, technical infrastructure and governance of services across Lifeline’s member network. LLA recently embarked on an exciting
transformation journey, guided by an ambitious strategic plan.
The 2024-2027 Strategic Plan will see enhancements across services, technology and workforce to bring about better outcomes and a more accessible and flexible support system for help-seekers
ROLE
We’re looking for a Procurement Business Partner to work closely with the Head o Procurement and leaders across the organisation, shaping commercial outcomes and driving value through smart, strategic sourcing.
In this role, you’ll partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, provide trusted procurement advice and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions across sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take charge of reviewing Lifeline Australia’s commercial contracts with a strategic lens, offering expert advice and recommendations that unlock long-term financial benefits and ensure continuous innovation.
- Lead the development of robust business cases, detailed scopes, budgets, and recommendations that fuel new commercial ventures and elevate existing projects.
- Establish, document and embed procurement processes, contract plans, efficiency-focused frameworks and streamlined systems that ensure long-term operational success.
- Develop and implement contract management plans, negotiate changes, and manage supplier performance.
- Build and maintain influential networks, strengthening connections with internal teams and external suppliers. Ability to foster meaningful collaborations will help achieve both short- and long-term strategic goals.
- Ensure commercial procurement initiatives (including all type of RFx’s) are executed seamlessly—on time, within budget, and exceeding expectations—to bolster operational efficiency and strengthen Lifeline Australia’s financial sustainability.
ABOUT YOU
- Strong experience in procurement and contract management, including commercial negotiation and risk mitigation.
- Ability to analyse markets, assess supplier capability, and develop sourcing strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to manage internal control processes, drive operational improvements, and implement strategies that elevate efficiency, transparency, and financial sustainability.
- Strong planning, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
