About the Role

As a People Partner, you will sit within the Group’s People & Capability function, partnering with designated business teams to deliver an exceptional employee experience across the full employment lifecycle. You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supporting recruitment, onboarding, development, performance, engagement, wellbeing and employee exits. Alongside your partnering portfolio, you will own some Group-wide people frameworks and programs, ensuring our people practices are scalable, consistent and aligned to our values and strategy. This role is suited to a mid to senior People & Culture professional who enjoys balancing strategic improvement with hands-on delivery.

Role Responsibilities

While not exhaustive, your work will span the following key areas:

Business Partnering

Partner with designated business units to provide proactive, end-to-end people support across the employee lifecycle.

  • Building trusted relationships with leaders and employees
  • Supporting workforce planning and organisational growth
  • Advising and supporting on recruitment and onboarding activities
  • Coaching leaders on people management and ER matters
  • Supporting employee development and career conversations
  • Providing guidance on performance, conduct and workplace matters
  • Supporting engagement, retention and employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Managing employee exits and capturing insights for continuous improvement
  • Using people data and insights to identify trends and recommend actions

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with leaders to develop workforce and hiring plans aligned to business growth
  • Lead recruitment for senior, specialist and business-critical roles within your portfolio
  • Coach hiring managers on effective recruitment practices, interviewing and selection
  • Partner with the People Partner to continuously improve recruitment frameworks, resources and processes
  • Contribute to talent attraction strategies, employer branding and candidate experience initiatives
  • Build and maintain external talent networks and pipelines for future capability needs
  • Support recruitment market mapping and succession planning for critical roles
  • Monitor recruitment trends and provide insights that improve hiring quality, speed and effectiveness

Learning & Development

Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Squared Group’s learning and capability framework.

  • Conducting learning needs analysis across the business
  • Managing and continuously improving the Learning Academy
  • Overseeing the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Curating and developing learning resources and pathways
  • Partnering with internal subject matter experts and external providers
  • Evaluating learning effectiveness and capability outcomes
  • Building learning solutions aligned to business needs
  • Supporting professional and technical capability development across all employee groups
  • Supporting leadership development initiatives

Performance & Talent

Own and continuously improve the frameworks that support individual and organisational performance.

  • Managing the Development Conversation process
  • Supporting goal setting and development planning
  • Coordinating talent and succession planning activities
  • Supporting career pathways and internal mobility initiatives
  • Developing resources and guidance for leaders and employees
  • Monitoring participation, quality and outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve performance processes and capability

Culture, Engagement & Belonging

Lead initiatives that strengthen culture, connection and inclusion across the Group.

  • Support internal people communications
  • Coordinating engagement surveys and pulse surveys and follow through action planning
  • Managing onboarding and exit survey frameworks
  • Supporting the organisation-wide feedback framework
  • Driving actions arising from employee insights
  • Leading belonging, diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Developing awareness, education and capability-building activities
  • Supporting culture activation and employee experience initiatives

Reporting & Analytics

Provide meaningful people insights that support effective decision making.

  • Producing monthly people reporting and dashboards
  • Monitoring workforce metrics and trends
  • Managing employee lifecycle data and insights
  • Coordinating onboarding and exit survey reporting
  • Supporting workforce planning and strategic decision making
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5–7+ years’ experience in HR, People & Culture or People Partnering roles
  • Experience designing and delivering learning, leadership and performance frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops, capability initiatives and organisational change
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, coaching and communication skills
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement capability
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related discipline
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to balance people outcomes and business outcomes
  • Employee relations capability, including performance, conduct and workplace matters is favourable
  • Talent acquisition experience is favourable
