About Law Squared
Forget everything you know about law firms – we’ve found a better way.
Law Squared is a leading human-centred law firm, founded in 2016 to provide a true alternative to traditional law firms – for clients and lawyers alike.
We work exclusively on an upfront, fixed-fee model, prioritising our clients’ success over billable hours and ensuring transparency and strategic control over their legal spend. By focusing on outcomes and value, rather than time and task-based inputs, Law Squared seamlessly bridges the gap between legal expertise and commercial impact.
Trusted by ASX-listed entities, multinational clients, General Counsels, in-house teams, and business leaders across a broad range of industries, Law Squared focuses on those areas crucial to business success, including Corporate + Commercial, Employment + Workplace Relations, Disputes + Litigation, Privacy + Cyber and Digital + Innovation.
Law Squared has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Auckland and London.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially minded Corporate Lawyer (3+ years PQE) to join our growing Corporate team.
This role is ideal for someone who is ambitious, enjoys working directly with clients, and is genuinely excited by the opportunity to accelerate their career within a modern, high-performing law firm.
Working closely with our expert Corporate Team, you will be exposed to a broad range of sophisticated corporate and commercial matters, take meaningful ownership of work from an early stage, and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the Corporate practice.
This is not a traditional law firm role. We are looking for someone who is proactive, solutions-focused and eager to build something alongside us.
Role Responsibilities
While not exhaustive, your work will span four key areas:
Delivery of Legal Work
- Draft and review transaction documents across a broad range of corporate matters
- Support and progressively lead private acquisitions, including share and asset sale transactions
- Assist with all stages of transactions — due diligence, transaction documents, disclosure, completion and post-completion matters
- Prepare shareholder agreements, constitutions and related governance documents
- Assist clients with employee equity arrangements, including ESOPs, option plans and implementation documentation
- Support corporate restructures, business acquisitions and divestments
- Project manage transactions to ensure matters progress efficiently and deadlines are met
Client Experience and Relationship Management
- Deliver legal services in the Law Squared way, providing an exceptional and consistent client experience
- Develop trusted relationships with founders, executives, in-house teams and other key stakeholders
- Understand clients’ broader commercial objectives and identify practical solutions that create value
- Support the preparation of proposals, pitches and scope documents for new and existing clients
- Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and contribute to client retention
Practice Growth and Business Development
- Work closely with the Head of Corporate to support the continued growth of the Corporate team
- Contribute to achieving agreed team revenue and utilisation objectives
- Participate in networking opportunities, client events, webinars and thought leadership initiatives
- Collaborate with the Brand Engagement team to create content and drive engagement across the Law Squared community
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve precedents, workflows and ways of working
- Embrace technology and AI tools to enhance efficiency, consistency and client outcomes
- Support knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of the team’s intellectual capital
