We are seeking a Facilitator / Youth Worker who can inspire, engage and support young people to thrive!
Kiama Community College is seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Worker / Facilitator to deliver our School Engagement Support Program (SESP) across local Shoalhaven and Illawarra high schools. The role is offered on a sessional basis, with a minimum availability of three days per week (Monday to Friday) during school terms.
The SESP is a targeted, structured program designed for students in Years 8–10 who are showing early signs of disengagement from school and learning. Funded by the Department of Education, the program supports improved attendance, engagement and positive pathways for young people.
About the Role
The primary function of this role is to deliver engaging, supportive programs to small groups of students across a range of Shoalhaven and Illawarra high schools.
Program delivery includes:
- Personal development and wellbeing activities
- Cultural awareness learning
- Employability skills development
- Outdoor recreation experiences (with guides provided by KCC Ltd.)
- Individualised care coordination support to achieve program outcomes
You will work both in group facilitation and one-on-one support, helping students build confidence, resilience and connection to their education.

Essential Requirements
- Qualification in Youth Work or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience working with young people, particularly those at risk
- Strong group facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to provide individual support and care coordination
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current National Police Check (NPC)
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role including supporting outdoor recreational activities
