Description

We are seeking a motivated and capable Surveyor to join our growing Mildura operations. Reporting to the Survey Manager, you’ll work alongside the project and construction teams to support survey functions across active civil construction projects.

This is a great opportunity to further your career in a hands-on environment, you’ll work with industry-leading technology, including Komatsu intelligent Machine Control (iMC) excavators, our own live NTRIP correction network, and modern Leica survey equipment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead all field survey operations, including Setout, as-built, and conformance surveys
  • Prepare, upload, and manage machine control files for GPS-guided plant and earthworks equipment
  • Support day-to-day machine control operations and troubleshooting on site
  • Review design drawings and project specifications to determine survey requirements
  • Process and manage survey data using Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Compile, QA, and update as-built plans and deliverables
  • Liaise directly with project managers and construction teams
  • Maintain, calibrate, and manage survey equipment
  • Responsible for daily data collection, backup, and file management
  • Drone operations and photogrammetry support (advantageous)

About You

  • Minimum 5–6 years’ experience in civil construction surveying
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently as the sole site surveyor
  • Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D — experience with other platforms such as 12D or Trimble Business Centre will also be considered
  • Experienced with Leica total stations and GNSS rovers
  • Familiarity with machine control systems (Komatsu iMC, Leica, Trimble, or similar)
  • Experience with survey requirements for road construction, bulk earthworks and civil formations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across all levels
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential risks on site
  • Current driver’s licence essential
