Accounting Services Team | Adelaide | Full-Time

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a prudentially regulated environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accountant plays a key role in delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting, reconciliations and analysis.

You will support effective decision-making across the organisation while ensuring strong financial controls and alignment with regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, variance analysis and commentary)
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations (clearing, intercompany, prepayments, leave liabilities, etc.)
  • Prepare accruals, journals and adjustments for reporting
  • Support Benefit Fund accounting, including earnings, distributions, and investment reporting
  • Prepare investment portfolio reports and annual fee calculations
  • Assist with year-end statutory accounts and audit processes

Finance Processes & Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare and submit BAS, FBT and GST reporting
  • Support capital adequacy reporting and APRA returns
  • Prepare ABS reporting as required
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register

Stakeholder Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide financial insights and support to Executive Management and business units
  • Analyse financial data and improve reporting quality and presentation
  • Contribute to finance and transformation projects
  • Identify and implement process and control improvements

Payroll Support

  • Provide support to payroll processing and related reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory obligations

About You

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance and / or Accounting (minimum)
  • CPA or CA qualified (or working towards)
  • Strong experience in financial accounting, reporting and reconciliations
  • Sound understanding of Australian regulatory and reporting requirements
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Relevant skills and experience in payroll will be highly regarded, though not essential.
