Kalano is seeking a passionate and skilled Child & Family Wellbeing Coordinator to join our Child & Family Intensive Support (CaFIS) team. The Child & Family Wellbeing Coordinator plays a dual role:
✔ Direct case management for a small caseload of families
✔ Operational and leadership support for the Youth & Family Services Manager
You will ensure high-quality service delivery across the CaFIS program, guide staff practice, support compliance and reporting, and help foster a positive, culturally safe team environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide intensive case management to a small caseload of families, including assessments, case plans, reviews, and accurate reporting.
- Support day‑to‑day CaFIS program operations, ensuring consistent service delivery and adherence to guidelines.
- Guide and support team members through mentoring, coaching, informal supervision, and case discussion.
- Monitor team documentation, ensuring case notes, plans, and reports meet DSS and organisational requirements.
- Build strong relationships with Aboriginal families, Elders, and community stakeholders across the Big Rivers region.
- Collaborate with external agencies—schools, health providers, government departments—to coordinate holistic support for families.
- Contribute to leadership activities, including recruitment, induction, performance support, and team development.
- Support compliance and quality assurance, including audits, data accuracy, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Promote Work Health & Safety, completing inspections, reporting hazards, and ensuring team participation in WHS processes.
- Provide operational support to the Youth & Family Services Manager and step in during their absence where required.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Other Requirements:
Qualifications (All qualifications must be recognised in Australia)
- Diploma or higher in Community Services or related field (or working towards).
Experience & Skills
- Experience working in case management with vulnerable families.
- Experience in program coordination, supervision, or team leadership.
- Experience working with Aboriginal families and communities in remote/regional NT contexts.
- Knowledge of child protection systems, trauma-informed practice, and family support frameworks.
- Understanding of the cultural needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work empathetically with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to organise, facilitate, and participate in a variety of person-centred activities.
- Strong leadership, supervision, and team support skills.
- Strong administrative skills, including use of various IT equipment, devices and software systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Valid NT Drivers Licence
- Valid NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
- National Police Check
Salary and Conditions:
Employment Type: Fulltime
Salary: $94,695.64 – 107,843.32 per annum (pro-rata)

Hours of work:
Monday – Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm with a 1hour unpaid lunch break.
37.5hours per week | 7.5hours per day
