MC Float Operator

JRM Resources is a locally owned, family-focused business delivering high-quality civil and mining services across the Peel and Southwest regions.

JRM Resources is seeking an experienced Float Operator with a valid MC Licence to support machinery movements across our Western Australian operations.

About the Role

• Waroona-base position
• Home every night
• Monday to Friday roster, with occasional weekend work as required
• Transporting machinery across the Peel and Southwest regions
• Operating prime movers with 50T float trailers
• Moving a variety of machinery across civil and mining projects

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders and other mobile plant
• Load restrain and unload machinery in accordance with legislative requirements
• Conduct pre-start inspections and routine vehicle checks
• Complete transport documentation including logbooks and trip sheets
• Liaise with site personnel to coordinate machinery movements
• Comply with road laws, fatigue management requirements and heavy haulage regulations
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and professionalism

Experience & Skills Required

• Previous experience operating 50T floats or low loaders
• Current MC Licence
• Experience within civil construction, mining or earthworks environments
• Experience with self-loading machinery is highly regarded, particularly:
• Excavators
• Loaders
• Dozers
• Strong understanding of load restraint and tie-down requirements
• Sound knowledge of fatigue management legislation and compliance
• Professional communication skills and a safety-first attitude
• Road Ranger gearbox experience is advantageous

Requirements

• MC Licence (essential)
• Commercial driver’s medical (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police clearance
• Forklift High Risk Work Licence and relevant mobile plant tickets are advantageous
