About the opportunity:

It goes without saying that a strong work ethic is a fundamental asset for a BMW Technician. This means that as a BMW Technician you will go above and beyond to make sure that the customer will be taken care of. You will achieve this as you will check for any possible issues that could prevent problems in the future and give the customer an honest assessment.

Our role will be to support, train and guide you through your BMW journey, ensuring you have every opportunity to be one of the best BMW technicians in our team!

With the fast pace of automotive technology, it is important that you enjoy staying on top of the latest automotive technology and you seek to learn new techniques and skills.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • A relevant trade qualification with recent work experience or a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience
  • Experience with BMW / European vehicles is essential
  • A great work ethic and problem-solving skills
  • Great time-management and ability to meet deadlines
  • A current full driver’s license
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

The Role:

  • Ensure vehicle faults are fixed on first visit, and in line with OEM and JMG requirements
  • Repair, replacements, preventative maintenance, diagnostic work on engine parts and electrical faults.
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repairs or replacement or assemblies and ensure work is undertaken effectively
  • Supports as necessary the supervision of apprentices
  • Maintains the professional and tidy appearance and presentation of workshop services area and ensures tools and equipment are clean, tidy and maintained
  • Ensures all warranty parts are securely and accurately tagged and stored in the appropriate location
  • Identifies problems, determines the relationship between cause and effect, and examines information from different sources to determine the best course of action
  • Effectively communicates with vehicle drivers/operators to seek necessary information to ascertain faults, including test drives when necessary
  • Uses electronic test equipment to locate and correct malfunctions in lighting, instrumentation, electronic fuel injection, ignition, and emissions control systems
  • Oversees the diagnosis, repair and replacement of minor body or trim repairs

You will also be:

  • An excellent communicator and collaborator with strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive problem solver who is process-driven and highly organised, with strong initiative and the ability to flex and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to meet operational deadlines and achieve set sales targets and profit margins.

Company Overview

Jowett Motor Group was born from the experience and forethought of Tony Jowett in 1995 with brands Audi, Volkswagen and Subaru, before opening Eastern Honda Doncaster in 2000 which remains today.
