Join a newly refurbished Jewish Care psychology clinic funded by PHN.

Unlike private practice, the organisation manages all running costs and offers clinical supervision.

The Senior Clinical Psychologist provides specialist psychological expertise, supervision, complex case consultation and governance to support the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed mental health services across Jewish Care’s community Mental Health and wellbeing programs.

Working closely with the program manager and the organisations Quality and Clinical Practice Lead, the Senior Clinical Psychologist provides governance and clinical guidance to support psychologists and practitioners to deliver safe, ethical, culturally responsive services while ensuring alignment with contemporary psychological practice and professional standards.

The role contributes clinical guidance and governance to service development and clinical capability building, for individuals experiencing complex trauma, mental health challenges, and psychosocial vulnerability within the community.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health and Wellbeing Supports and indirectly reporting to the Head of Quality & Clinical Practice, the Senior Clinical Psychologist provides clinical leadership and governance across Jewish Care’s community mental health programs.

You will work closely with program managers and the Quality & Clinical Practice team to support psychologists and practitioners delivering services to individuals experiencing complex trauma, mental health challenges and psychosocial vulnerability.

Key responsibilities include:

Clinical Leadership

  • Contribute to clinical practice frameworks, models of care and service standards
  • Provide clinical input to service development and continuous improvement initiatives

Complex Case Consultation

  • Provide expert consultation on trauma, risk, and complex mental health presentations
  • Support practitioners with risk assessments, safety planning and crisis responses
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and reviews

Clinical Governance & Quality

  • Support ethical, evidence-based practice across mental health programs
  • Contribute to incident reviews, case consultations and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure alignment with professional standards and regulatory requirements

Clinical Supervision

  • Provide professional clinical supervision to psychologists
  • Support workforce capability development and reflective practice

Specialist Psychological Practice

  • Undertake psychological assessment and intervention planning for complex presentations
  • Provide guidance on trauma-informed approaches and high-risk mental health cases.

Essential

  • Current registration as a Clinical Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Significant senior clinical experience
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to psychologists or practitioners
  • Expertise in psychological assessment, formulation and intervention
  • Demonstrated experience developing clinical governance frameworks for new initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of professional standards, legislation and ethical frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex trauma crisis and high-risk cases
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Desirable

  • Understanding of Jewish culture, values and community
  • Experience working in community services or not-for-profit settings
  • Experience in culturally responsive practice
  • Experience supporting community trauma or crisis response
