Community Services & Engagement | Mental Health & Wellbeing Team
JewishCare is a leading, child-safe social services organisation dedicated to supporting and strengthening the resilience and independence of individuals and families across the NSW Jewish community.
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join our Mental Health & Wellbeing Team. This role is ideal for a values-driven professional with experience in community programs who is passionate about culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health initiatives.
About the role
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of community-based mental health programs tailored to the needs of the Jewish community. Programs may include psychosocial and peer support groups, psychoeducational initiatives, community training, forums and seminars.
You will work closely with internal teams, volunteers, facilitators and community partners to ensure high-quality program delivery, strong community engagement and measurable outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Design, coordinate and evaluate culturally responsive and trauma-informed community programs
- Coordinate day-to-day program operations, including logistics, administration and scheduling
- Recruit, onboard and support program staff, facilitators and volunteers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and partner organisations
- Promote programs through community channels, events and engagement activities
- Monitor risk, compliance, incidents and quality standards in line with organisational policies
- Collect, analyse and report on program data, outcomes and funding requirements
About you
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, social science, welfare or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in program coordination within community or social services
- Strong knowledge of mental health principles, including child protection, self-harm, suicide ideation and family violence
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working with volunteers and external partners
- Strong organisational, reporting and data analysis skills
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team
- A proactive, flexible and “can-do” approach
