Description

Project Manager – Electrical Site Delivery

Full-time | Sydney, NSW | Office / Site-Based

At JET Charge, our mission is clear – to provide EV charging at no cost, with no emissions.  We’re building Australia’s electrified future by developing the infrastructure and technology that make clean transport accessible to everyone. Through innovation in charging, grid, and energy management systems, we’re breaking down barriers to electrification and driving a sustainable, equitable, and Australian-made transition.

The Role

We are looking for a practical, site-focused Project Manager to lead the delivery of EV charging and electrical infrastructure projects from planning through to construction, commissioning and handover.

This role is best suited to someone with strong electrical construction or electrical infrastructure delivery experience. You may have worked as an Electrical Project Manager, Site Manager, Project Engineer, Electrical Supervisor or Construction Project Manager in environments involving HV/LV works, utilities, substations, switchboards, cabling, civil interfaces, live operational sites or grid-connected infrastructure.

You’ll own the full delivery picture: program, budget, scope, contractors, client communication, safety and quality. The role is office-based through design, planning and procurement, then transitions to a more site-based role once construction begins.

You don’t need to have delivered EV charging projects before, but you do need to understand electrical site delivery and be confident managing contractors, sequencing, safety, commercial issues and client expectations in a live construction environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead electrical infrastructure projects from initiation through planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Develop and maintain project programs, milestones and delivery plans.
  • Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, invoicing, variations and margin outcomes.
  • Validate scope against contracts and manage changes formally.
  • Coordinate electrical contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, technical specialists and internal teams.
  • Manage delivery across electrical, civil and infrastructure workstreams.
  • Oversee site sequencing, access constraints, live-site requirements and constructability issues.
  • Identify risks, resolve issues early and escalate where needed.
  • Act as the main client contact during delivery, providing clear and proactive updates.
  • Work with network partners, authorities, suppliers and internal technical teams to keep projects moving.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Ensure contractors comply with WHS and HSEQ requirements.
  • Support commissioning, testing, verification, energisation and handover documentation.
  • Provide direction to Project Coordinators and Administrators supporting the project.

About You

You are a practical electrical site/project delivery professional who is comfortable close to the work. You know how to keep projects moving, coordinate contractors, manage site constraints and bring structure to complex delivery environments.

You’ll likely come from electrical contracting, electrical infrastructure, utilities, energy, HV/LV works, civil/electrical construction, power, transport infrastructure or a similar site-based delivery environment.

We’re looking for someone who can bring most of the following:

  • Experience delivering electrical construction, electrical infrastructure or HV/LV site-based projects.
  • Confidence managing contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
  • Experience working across live operational sites such as transport depots, ports, airports, rail corridors, utilities or commercial environments.
  • Exposure to electricity networks, DNSPs, grid connections, substations, switchboards, cabling, commissioning or energisation works.
  • Strong program, budget, scope and risk management discipline.
  • Experience managing variations, delivery blockers, scope changes, delays or contractor performance issues.
  • A practical understanding of site safety, sequencing, access constraints and constructability.
  • The ability to work between office-based planning and hands-on site delivery.
  • Clear, professional communication with clients, contractors, technical teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness, including cost tracking, forecasting, invoicing and variations.
  • The ability to bring structure, urgency and calm when projects become complex.
  • An electrical trade background, electrical engineering exposure or hands-on electrical infrastructure experience would be highly regarded.

You’ll be working with and supported by the Project Delivery Leadership team, with the opportunity to build your capability in EV charging infrastructure, electrical project delivery and commercial project management over time.
