Help us tell Australia about women’s health and our work.
Jean Hailes for Women’s Health is a national not-for-profit with a clear and urgent purpose: an Australia where gender has no bearing on health outcomes. We work across health information, advocacy, clinical expertise and partnerships to make that vision real — and we’re looking for an External Affairs Lead to help more of Australia hear about it.
This communications and advocacy role reports directly to the CEO and supports their work to communicate to external stakeholders. You’ll shape how Jean Hailes shows up in the media, with government, and with the partners and stakeholders who help us drive change.
What you’ll do
- Build and deliver communications plans that build Jean Hailes’ national profile
- Lead media relations — from briefing the CEO for interviews to managing the media inbox and securing the right spokespeople
- Own the production of the Annual Report and other key publications
- Help disseminate findings from the National Women’s Health Survey
- Build genuine, lasting relationships with our clinicians, community members, partner organisations and the media
- Report on the impact of your work to the Board and stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or a related field
- Extensive experience in media and communications — government, not-for-profit or public health backgrounds are highly regarded
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the confidence to work independently
- A genuine interest in women’s health
Why Jean Hailes
You’ll be joining a team doing work that has a direct line to better health outcomes for Australian women. This is a role with real influence: your work will help shape national conversations, not just support them.
