Go far with IOR

IOR might be the greatest Aussie success story you haven’t heard of… yet.

From humble roots in Eromanga, QLD, we’ve been fuelling the furthest corners of Australia for over 40 years. But we think the most exciting journey’s still on the horizon.

Joining IOR means stepping into a role where your work genuinely matters. Whether you’re supporting customers, keeping operations moving, or helping shape the future of our equipment and technology offering, you’ll be part of a team that backs you to grow, learn, and make an impact. This is your chance to contribute to a business that’s still building, still innovating, and still driven by the same determination that started in the red dirt of Eromanga.

About the role

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing electrical and control systems across a range of industrial projects. From fuel storage and dispensing facilities to aviation refuelling systems and renewable energy infrastructure, your work will directly support critical operations across Australia. You’ll collaborate with project teams, contribute to design standards, and help deliver high quality, safe and compliant engineering solutions.

  • Design and draft electrical and control systems, ensuring quality and accuracy in documentation.
  • Develop site layouts including equipment placement, cabling, earthing, lighting, and protection systems.
  • Support project teams with electrical, instrumentation, and control scopes and documentation.
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory standards, client specifications, and hazardous area requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contribute to continuous improvement of electrical design standards.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring a strong technical foundation in electrical engineering, along with a proactive and detail-oriented approach. You enjoy working in collaborative project environments, are confident working with design tools, and can adapt to the evolving needs of complex industrial projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant industry experience.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD and electrical system design, including calculations and specifications.
  • Understanding of hazardous areas, dangerous goods, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites
  • Exposure to control systems or fuel infrastructure considered advantageous.
