About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our accommodation services on a casual basis across our South Windsor and Glenorie locations. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to making a genuine difference in the lives of others.
To be successful you will have:
- Provide direct support to people with disability, including personal care and daily living tasks
- Support individuals with complex behavioural needs, demonstrating resilience and de-escalation skills
- Work flexibly across a variety of shifts, including short shifts, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and active wake shifts
- Contribute positively to a team environment and work independently when required
- Maintain accurate documentation and use Microsoft Office confidently
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, both verbally and in writing
Candidate Requirements – Essential
- Experience supporting people with physical disabilities and/or complex behavioural needs
- Willingness to assist with personal care (e.g. toileting, showering, dressing) and daily living tasks
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented practice
- Ability to read, understand, and follow individual care plans
- Ability to read, understand, and implement individual Behaviour Support Plans, including any authorised restrictive practices, in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
- Experience supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including individuals with limited verbal communication, using person-centred communication strategies, active listening, visual supports, and positive behaviour support approaches.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in Disability/Community Services (or related field)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain before employment)
- Valid driver’s licence
- A comprehensively insured and registered vehicle
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred (location dependent)
- Training in manual handling, mealtime management plans, and complex bowel care
