The Role

Canberra ACT, Brisbane QLD, Melbourne VIC and Adelaide SA (multiple positions available).
We are seeking multiple TSPV cleared Senior Software Engineers to support the delivering of secure, innovative and mission-critical software Defence capabilities.
Available across Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, these roles offer the opportunity to work within highly skilled technical teams responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining complex software solutions that support Australia’s national security objectives.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, contributing to software design, development, release management, configuration management and continuous improvement activities. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to solve complex technical challenges, drive software engineering outcomes and mentor less experienced team members.
These positions are offered on an initial 12-month contract with extension options available and require onsite attendance in accordance with operational requirements.
About You
You are an experienced software engineering professional with a strong track record delivering complex software solutions within enterprise, government or national security environments.
You will demonstrate:
- Experience leading or contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle
- Strong software development and programming skills across one or more modern programming languages
- Experience designing, developing, testing, reviewing and deploying complex software applications
- Knowledge of software configuration management, release and deployment practices
- Experience applying software development methodologies, standards and best practices
- Strong understanding of software security, quality assurance and version control processes
- Knowledge of databases, SQL, algorithms and data structures
- The ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues and recommend effective solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and mentoring capabilities
Candidates must hold a current TSPV security clearance and be willing to undergo an Organisation Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement.
Experience working within Defence, intelligence, cyber security or other highly secure environments will be highly regarded.
