As a Safety Engineer within the Defence sector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of engineering projects. Based in Canberra, you will be responsible for
identifying potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest safety standards.
The Role
- Plan and deliver a System Safety Program, specifically using system safety engineering services, meeting regulatory compliance requirements
Conduct co-ordination, direction, and evaluation of system safety activities in a Capability Life Cycle environment.
- Conduct system safety analysis, development, and support Verification as required to support a System Safety Program.
- Provide advice and guidance on system safety engineering analysis techniques, processes, and software assurance necessary for design and implementation.
- Conduct reviews of contract deliverables as required.
- Hazard Analyses and associated reports.
- Systems safety engineering services.
- Any necessary specialist engineering reports.
- Accountable for exercising assigned Technical Authority
Requirements:
- 5+ years in a similar role
- Relevant qualifications
- Recognition as a Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent
- A minimum one-year experience within a materiel system safety program
- Have a current AGSVA NV1 and be based in Canberra
The role requires onsite work and does not have remote or hybrid arrangements
