About Us
IAG Defence & National Security (DNS) is part of IAG, a specialist advisory firm supporting complex infrastructure, Defence and national security programs across Australia.
Our DNS team works closely with Commonwealth agencies and industry partners to deliver specialist expertise into nationally significant programs. Our success depends on our ability to identify, engage and mobilise highly specialised talent quickly and effectively. IAG is recognised as Veteran Friendly Employer under the Veteran Employment Program.
The Role
In this role, you will support a high‑profile national program by coordinating, shaping, and delivering briefing material on sensitive and complex issues. You will operate at the centre of a fast‑moving environment, ensuring senior leaders receive clear, accurate and timely advice that supports informed decision‑making.
You will lead the drafting, review and clearance of briefs, submissions and written products, managing the full lifecycle from initial scoping through to final approval. Working across multiple teams, you will gather input, align positions, and ensure messaging is consistent, accurate and decision‑ready.
A key part of the role involves supporting mobilisation activities with an Australian industry partner, contributing to workforce development initiatives, and assisting with the embedment and secondment of personnel. You will also help coordinate governance processes, track actions and dependencies, and ensure briefing and reporting outputs meet required standards and timeframes.
This position requires sound judgement, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to translate complex or ambiguous issues into clear, structured advice.
The role is based full‑time in Port Adelaide, South Australia.
About You
You bring extensive experience delivering project management, coordination or advisory services in complex, high‑assurance environments — ideally within Defence, government, or major national programs. You are confident navigating sensitive subject matter, managing competing priorities, and producing high‑quality written products under tight timeframes.
You excel at synthesising information from multiple sources, aligning diverse viewpoints, and shaping clear, concise and decision‑ready advice for senior audiences. Your communication skills allow you to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and represent your team effectively across organisational boundaries.
An active AGSVA NV1 clearance and the ability to work full‑time on site in Adelaide are essential for this role.
