About the Role
IAG Defence & National Security is seeking an experienced and motivated Learning Technologist to join our growing Learning Systems team.
This role sits at the intersection of learning design, learning technologies, and digital training delivery. You will work alongside instructional designers, Defence SMEs, multimedia developers, and project teams to develop, administer, and continuously improve modern learning environments.
The successful candidate will have strong Moodle experience, a passion for learning technologies, and the ability to translate training requirements into engaging and effective learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and administer Moodle-based Learning Management Systems.
- Develop and maintain online learning content using Moodle activities, H5P, SCORM, and other digital learning tools.
- Support instructional design and course development activities.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, reporting, and LMS governance.
- Troubleshoot LMS issues and provide technical support to stakeholders.
- Configure and maintain learning pathways, assessments, competencies, and reporting frameworks.
- Assist in the migration, remediation, and enhancement of existing learning content.
- Support quality assurance and accessibility compliance requirements.
- Engage with clients and SMEs to identify learning and performance requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of learning technologies, systems, and processes.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrated experience administering and developing within Moodle LMS environments.
- Experience developing digital learning solutions and eLearning content.
- Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
- Experience configuring learning activities, assessments, reporting, and competency frameworks.
- Experience with:
- Moodle Administration
- H5P
- SCORM
- Learning Analytics and Reporting
- LMS User Management
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within Defence, Government, Emergency Services, Aviation, or other highly regulated environments.
- Understanding of the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL).
- Experience conducting:
- Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
- Performance Needs Analysis (PNA)
- Learning Management Package (LMP) development
- Current Australian Defence Security Clearance
