The Role
This role supports the delivery and sustainment of critical Defence capabilities within a complex and dynamic operating environment.
The project is modernising and upgrading Join Data Networks capabilities across defence and this position will be required, under limited direction, to perform and achieve moderately complex materiel logistics inventory, asset management and Repair/Maintenance work within an integrated workforce.
About You
The successful candidate will, on behalf of the Project Manager, be responsible for:
- Logistics Support logistics support to, RAM, sparing, LORA, costing, capability transition, advising on Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC).
- Sharing information, monitoring work practices, setting work priorities and developing local procedures
- Planning and managing of logistics
- Directing, optimising and coordinating the order cycle
- Liaising with suppliers and consumers i.e. the project and Commonwealth of Australia
- Supply chain coordination and organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods
- Provide technical ILS advice for the development of project plans and procedures.
- Provide logistics support to the planning and design of the Support
- System Constituent Capabilities related to the acquisition.
- Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at the strategic and operational level.
- Logistics Governance & Assurance; Follow and implement Defence policy, processes & procedures, while ensuring record keeping standards are met.
Experience/Skills Sought:
As the successful candidate you will possess the following;
- Experience in a Defence project would be beneficial
- Understanding of Military Command and Control technologies such as Tactical Data Links would be beneficial
- The ability to strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
- Experience of working in a multi-functional integrated project team is highly desirable
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
Essential Qualification:
- Qualifications in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
- A relevant MILIS competency
Highly Desirable:
Qualifications/ experience in:
- Cert IV Logistic Management
- Cert IV Supply Support
- CMT-L
- MILIS Stocktake Recorder
- MILIS SPO Inventory Controller
- MILIS Cataloguer
