IAG is a leading Australian multi-disciplinary infrastructure advisory firm that has supported the planning and delivery of over $200 billion in infrastructure projects.

IAG helps clients achieve strong social and economic outcomes through the successful delivery of major projects in the energy, transport, water, civic, and social infrastructure sectors.

The Role

We are seeking expressions of interest for an Environmental Project Manager to take real ownership of environmental management and offset delivery across South-east Queensland, with the capability to support major infrastructure projects. This is a dynamic role that combines hands-on offset delivery and land management (where there is a need to support Clients on meeting offset obligations), along with more traditional technical environmental management including approvals support.

You will play a key role in delivering environmental offset projects, ensuring compliance with Offset Area Management Plans (OAMPs) and environmental legislation. You will lead the development and implementation of work programs, manage budgets and risks, schedule resources, and oversee the delivery of offset commitments. A significant part of the role involves procuring and managing specialist contractors to deliver land management and restoration works, ensuring compliance with legislation, contract KPIs, and quality standards.

You will also have the capability and experience to apply your technical expertise in environmental management to support major infrastructure projects where this need arises. This includes navigating environmental approvals processes, ensuring compliance with the EPBC Act and other relevant legislation, and providing technical advice on environmental management strategies.

Equally important is your ability to engage with people. You will work closely with government agencies, community members, traditional owners, and other stakeholders to align priorities, negotiate land access agreements, and ensure project success. Much of the work will take place in semi-rural and remote settings, so you must be comfortable working autonomously, conducting site inspections, and solving complex challenges in the field – in a safe manner.

What we are after:

  • Degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of industry experience, with a proven track record in project management, particularly in major infrastructure or greenfield projects.
  • Strong background in offset delivery, land management, and Offset Area Management Plan (OAMP) compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental approvals processes, including EPBC Act compliance and technical environmental management.
  • Proven ability to procure, manage, and oversee contractors delivering land management and restoration works, ensuring compliance with legislation, KPIs, and quality standards.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, including working with government agencies, community members, and traditional owners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and the Office suite.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted Class C driver’s licence.
  • Queensland Construction White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry).

Applications close Tuesday, 21 July 2026. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the role may be filled prior to the closing date if a suitable candidate is identified.
