The Role

We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced professionals to support the delivery of complex Defence capability outcomes across a range of program, project, engineering and logistics functions.

Working within integrated teams, successful candidates will contribute specialist expertise, collaborate with key stakeholders and support the achievement of critical capability objectives in a fast-paced Defence environment.

Design Engineer – L3 Advanced Practitioner:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the delivery of complex Defence capability outcomes within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will lead design activities, support technical assurance and contribute to the development, integration and delivery of complex systems and infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring engineering designs meet technical, safety and compliance requirements, while supporting systems integration, interface management and configuration control activities throughout the design lifecycle.

The role will contribute to engineering governance and assurance activities, including participation in formal design reviews, development of engineering documentation and the provision of technical advice to support informed decision-making and successful capability delivery..

About You

You are an experienced Design Engineer with demonstrated experience delivering engineering solutions within complex, highly regulated or safety-critical environments.

You will demonstrate experience in:

  • Leading or supporting engineering design activities across complex systems, infrastructure or capability projects
  • Design assurance, technical compliance and engineering governance activities
  • Systems integration and interface management across multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines
  • Participating in formal design reviews and engineering assurance processes
  • Applying engineering standards, policies and best practices throughout the design lifecycle
  • Configuration management and design change control processes
  • Developing technical documentation, design assurance reports and engineering artefacts
  • Identifying, assessing and managing engineering risks and safety considerations
  • Providing technical advice and recommendations to project teams, stakeholders and governance bodies

Highly regarded candidates will possess experience working within Defence, infrastructure, maritime, aerospace, industrial or other safety-critical engineering environments.

You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities and the ability to provide independent technical judgement to support informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.
