Impact Care Solutions provides therapeutic, child-safe support to young people in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. Our focus is practical, trauma-informed care that supports safety, stability, and long-term outcomes.

We are seeking Casual Therapeutic Care / Youth Workers to join our residential care programs.

The Role

You will provide trauma-informed, strengths-based care to young people living in residential OOHC. This includes:

  • Building safe, consistent, and trusting relationships
  • Supporting daily routines, community access, and life skills
  • Implementing positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies during periods of distress, including aggression or sexualised conduct
  • Working collaboratively within a therapeutic care team
  • Participating in rotating shifts, including days, supports, awakes, weekends and sleepovers

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience supporting young people with trauma, high needs, or challenging behaviours
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and neuro-affirming practice
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations
  • Confidence with documentation, communication, and compliance requirements
  • Cultural competence and the ability to work respectfully with young people from diverse backgrounds, including CALD communities
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in OOHC or complex residential care

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or related field (or higher)

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current NSW Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Residential Care Workers Register
  • Unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
  • Willingness to complete police and probity checks

Under current Department of Home Affairs arrangements, this work may be exempt from the 6-month employment limitation, subject to the visa holder meeting all visa conditions and the role remaining within the scope of disability care. Ongoing employment for WHM visa holders is subject to Department of Home Affairs requirements and operational needs.
