Impact Care Solutions provides therapeutic, child-safe and disability-informed support to children and young people with complex needs, including young people in Out-of-Home Care and residential support settings.

We are seeking Full-Time, Part-Time and Casual Disability Support Workers / Complex Care Youth Workers to support children and young people who require skilled, consistent care, including high levels of personal care, disability support, behaviour support, and trauma-informed practice.

This role is suited to workers who are confident in supporting children and young people with complex disability, trauma histories, communication needs, emotional dysregulation, mental health risks, and behaviours of concern.

The Role

You will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to children and young people with complex disability and care needs.

The role includes:

  • Supporting daily routines, personal care, hygiene, showering, toileting, continence care, meals, mobility and medication support in line with care plans
  • Building safe, consistent and trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Supporting communication, sensory needs, emotional regulation, school routines, family contact, appointments, community access and life skills
  • Following care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments and individual support strategies
  • Responding calmly and safely to behaviours of concern, including aggression, spitting, property damage, unsafe behaviours, self-harm risk, suicidal ideation and emotional distress
  • Working as part of a therapeutic care team and completing clear shift notes, incident reports and other required documentation
  • Participating in rotating shifts, including day shifts, afternoon supports, awake shifts, weekends and sleepovers

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience supporting children or young people with disability, trauma, complex behaviours, high personal care needs or residential care needs
  • Confidence providing personal care, including showering, toileting, continence support and hygiene routines
  • Experience responding safely to behaviours of concern, emotional dysregulation, self-harm risk, suicidal ideation or trauma-related distress
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based and neuro-affirming practice
  • Respectful, culturally safe practice with children and young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Good communication, documentation and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and willingness to work in residential programs where consistency is critical
  • At least 2 years’ experience in disability support, OOHC, complex residential care, youth work or a related support role is preferred

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant experience supporting children or young people with complex disability and personal care needs will also be considered.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current NSW Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain
  • Residential Care Workers Register, where applicable
  • Unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
  • Willingness to complete police and probity checks
