The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer to support a complex ICT infrastructure environment. This role will focus on the design, deployment, configuration, administration and optimisation of enterprise storage systems across physical and virtual layers. You will support Storage Area Network infrastructure, backup and recovery capability, technical documentation, knowledge sharing and mentoring across a highly skilled infrastructure team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, configure, administer and optimise enterprise storage infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
  • Manage and support Storage Area Network infrastructure, including SAN switches and associated storage technologies.
  • Monitor, tune and troubleshoot storage platforms to ensure performance, availability, resilience and data integrity.
  • Support backup, restore and recovery capabilities across enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Contribute to the future direction of storage and data platforms by applying knowledge of new and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, build guides, operational procedures and handover materials.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure infrastructure services are stable, secure and aligned to operational needs.
  • Share technical knowledge with team members and mentor junior engineers where required.
  • Participate in operational support activities, including after-hours support where required.

About You

You are a senior infrastructure professional with strong hands-on experience across enterprise storage platforms, SAN environments and backup technologies. You are confident working in large, complex ICT environments and can balance technical delivery with clear documentation, collaboration and stakeholder engagement. You bring strong troubleshooting skills, a practical approach to problem solving, and the ability to coach and support others within a technical team.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience designing, administering, tuning and troubleshooting one or more enterprise storage systems, including HPE 3PAR, HPE Primera, HPE Alletra Storage Systems, NetApp E-Series, Dell Data Domain, Brocade Fabric Switches, SANnav or Scality Artesca.
  • Experience deploying, configuring and managing Storage Area Network switches and associated storage infrastructure. Strong knowledge of backup and recovery technologies, including Veeam Backup and Replication. Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including design, build, operational process and procedure documentation.
  • Experience working within large, complex ICT or enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Must be an Australian citizen and have a current AGSVA Baseline security clearance.

  • Work arrangement: Onsite.
  • Engagement: Initial 12-month contract with potential extension options.
  • Hours: Full-time, up to 40 hours per week.
  • Level: Senior level, broadly aligned to EL1-equivalent experience.
