The Role

We’re looking for a skilled RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) Engineer to join a Defence program team in Canberra. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the technical detail of system reliability and sustainment, helping ensure fleet and vehicle systems perform when and where they’re needed.

You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, feeding RAM considerations into design decisions and helping improve fleet availability and mission readiness over the system lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct reliability analysis and failure prediction assessments across propulsion, mechanical, electrical and mission systems
  • Develop and maintain reliability and availability models, factoring in maintenance strategies, spares and sustainment requirements
  • Define and refine maintenance concepts, including repair times, maintenance intervals and level of repair decisions
  • Monitor in-service fleet performance to identify reliability trends, failure modes and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare RAM-related technical documentation, analyses and recommendations in line with Defence engineering standards

Required

  • Current NV1 security clearance
  • Experience in RAM analysis, systems engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of RAM principles and methodologies
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams on complex systems
  • Familiarity with relevant reliability tools, standards and sustainment planning practices
