The Role
We are seeking experienced Project Managers to support the delivery of complex ICT and national security programs. In this role, you will plan, lead and manage medium-scale projects, coordinating
multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring project outcomes are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality and resource parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary project team, coordinating project activities and supporting strategic planning, governance and resourcing activities.
- Manage project schedules, risks, budgets and resources, including the preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and project status updates.
- Apply established project management methodologies, procedures, governance frameworks and organisational practices.
- Identify risks and opportunities and incorporate these into planning, decision-making and priority setting.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, communicating with influence and negotiating
effectively to support project outcomes.
- Analyse and interpret project performance against agreed plans and develop strategies to address issues or improve delivery outcomes.
- Take initiative to resolve issues by identifying options, assessing implications and recommending practical courses of action.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare correspondence, briefs, reports and submissions for senior stakeholders, delegates and committees as required.
About You
- Demonstrated experience managing medium-scale ICT projects, including schedule, risk, budget, resources, quality and delivery governance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate inputs across complex environments.
- Experience applying project management methods, tools and change control processes.
- Ability to define, manage and prioritise requirements, facilitate stakeholder input and maintain traceability to agreed requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to develop engagement plans, facilitate
communication and support business decision-making.
- Sound financial management capability, including maintaining financial records, supporting budgeting
activities and collating financial data for reporting and analysis.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing briefs, reports, correspondence and
submissions.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in Defence, national security or similarly secure government environments.
- Experience supporting projects aligned with SFIA project management, stakeholder relationship management, requirements management and financial management capabilities.
- Experience operating in high-security, operationally sensitive or highly regulated environments.
Additional Information:
- Location: Queensland or ACT.
- Working arrangements: Onsite, with arrangements determined by the assigned work area and operational requirements.
- Estimated start date: 1 September 2026.
- Security clearance: Current NV2 or TSPV clearance required
- Successful candidates may be required to complete additional organisational suitability or onboarding assessments prior to commencement.
