The Role
We are looking for a capable Commercial Officer to support the delivery of critical Defence capability projects within the Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems (EWIS) Joint & Air SPO. This is a hands-on role supporting acquisition and commercial activities across a complex Defence environment. Working closely with project teams, stakeholders and industry partners, you’ll help ensure procurement, contract management and commercial governance activities are
delivered effectively while supporting the successful delivery of key Defence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement and tender activities, including the preparation of documentation and evaluation processes.
- Monitor contract performance and assist in managing commercial obligations and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to project financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, pricing and contract administration.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build strong relationships with project teams, Defence stakeholders and industry partners.
About You
- Experience in commercial, procurement, contract management or project support roles within a complex environment.
- Strong understanding of Defence and Commonwealth procurement frameworks, including ASDEFCON contracts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organised, self-motivated and capable of managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Current NV1 security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain NV2.
Additional Information
- Defence experience as a contractor, APS employee or ADF member will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to Electronic Warfare programs, export controls or ITAR requirements is advantageous.
- The role may require access to US export-controlled materiel and applicants will be assessed against applicable eligibility requirements.
- Candidates must not have worked full-time for Defence as an APS employee or ADF member within the previous 12 months before commencing as an Above-the-Line contractor.
- This role is delivered within a collaborative project environment supporting national security outcomes.
