Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced cafe environment where your efforts directly contribute to excellent service and happy customers?

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Barista to join our vibrant team at the Sea Spray Café, located on-site at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI). In this hands-on role, you’ll be involved in preparing and serving coffee and beverages and providing friendly, efficient and professional customer service whilst supporting the smooth operation of the café.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, community-focused workplace in a casual role.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages to café standards
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment
• Provide friendly, efficient, and professional customer service
• Take customer orders and handle basic point-of-sale transactions as required
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the coffee and service area
• Support the team during busy service periods and special events
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and WHS procedures

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Previous experience as a barista and cafe or catering assistant, or similar role
• A strong work ethic and willingness to support wherever needed
• Barista certificate
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Availability to work Fridays
