ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Tenancy Sustainment Coordinator, you will work directly with customers to provide tailored support, education and advocacy that promotes housing stability and independence.
You will collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to address complex matters including hoarding and squalor, anti-social behaviour, domestic and family violence, and mandatory reporting requirements.
This role requires strong customer focus, excellent stakeholder management skills
and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess customer needs, identify goals and develop tenancy sustainment support plans
- Build customers’ independence and capability to maintain their tenancy
- Coordinate referrals and connect customers with appropriate support services
- Provide education on tenancy rights and responsibilities
- Manage complex tenancy matters and provide advocacy where required
- Build effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records, case notes and reporting outcome requirements
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to strengthen programs through partnerships and funding initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
- Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle
- Basic understanding of relevant legislation, including Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and NCAT processes
- Minimum two years’ experience in community services, housing or related sector
- Experience coordinating and managing casework
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft (Outlook, Work and Excel)
- Diploma in Community Services (or equivalent qualification)
DESIRABLE:
- Experience within community housing or tenancy management
- Knowledge of housing legislation, policy and best practice
- Experience managing diverse stakeholder relationships
- Experience applying for grants, funding or sponsorship responsibilities
