We are currently seeking a motivated and hands-on Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the presentation, safety, and functionality of the village grounds and facilities to a high standard. Working closely with the Village Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the property to ensure residents enjoy a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.

The role involves physically demanding work, including regular manual handling and lifting, along with the safe operation of power tools and maintenance equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • General grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, hedging, and landscaping
  • Operation and maintenance of gardening and maintenance equipment
  • Upkeep of village facilities, amenities, and common areas
  • Assist with minor repairs, cleaning, and general maintenance tasks as directed
  • Ensure presentation standards of the village are maintained at all times
  • Support safe work practices and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Identify maintenance issues and report them promptly to management
  • Assist with general property upkeep and operational requirements as needed

What You Need to Succeed

  • Previous experience in grounds and property maintenance (community, village, or similar environment preferred but not essential)
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, carrying, and repetitive physical activities
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate power tools and maintenance equipment
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, proactive, and safety-focused attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high presentation standards

You will be competent in the use of equipment such as:

  • Ride-on mowers
  • Hedge trimmers
  • Whipper snippers
  • Chainsaws
  • High-powered hand tools
