The Position
The Community
Engagement Officer supports the delivery of inclusive and meaningful engagement
initiatives that strengthen renter connection, participation and overall
satisfaction across HousingFirst communities. Working under the guidance of the
Coordinator, Community Engagement, the role contributes to the planning and
delivery of activities that foster a sense of belonging and support positive
renter experiences.
Working closely
with residents, site teams and community partners, the Community Engagement
Officer helps build strong relationships at a local level and encourages renter
participation in programs and initiatives. The role contributes to maintaining
safe, inclusive and connected communities by supporting day to day engagement
activities and identifying opportunities to enhance renter experience.
This role is paid in line with SCHADS 4.1 at $88,980.43 per
annum plus superannuation and access to salary packaging.
Responsibilities
-Collaborate
within the team by contributing to meetings, partnering with internal teams,
sharing ideas to improve practices, and fostering a respectful team
environment.
-Build
and maintain positive relationships with residents and stakeholders by
responding to enquiries and representing the organisation where required.
-Support
the planning and delivery of engagement programs by coordinating logistics,
assisting with events, capturing feedback, and identifying opportunities to
improve participation.
-Maintain
accurate records and supports engagement communications and reporting by
preparing materials and managing and providing data.
-Contribute to an effective, collaborative and
inclusive Community Engagement team.
As our ideal candidate you will have:
-Desire to be part of a values driven and
community focussed organisation
-Relevant
tertiary qualifications in community development, events management, property
or a related field are highly regarded.
-Demonstrated experience supporting community engagement, participation,
or community development activities within a community services, social
housing, local government, or not-for-profit environment.
-Experience engaging directly with residents, community members, or
stakeholders in face-to-face and community-based settings.
-Experience supporting the delivery of community programs, events, or
consultations, including practical and logistical support.
-Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, collect participation
data, and contribute information for reporting purposes.
-Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work across different
locations, activities and community settings as required.
