About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel ready to progress their legal and leadership career within our Intellectual Property, Technology & Cyber Security team.
Working with Andrew Hynd and his team, you will work closely with clients, building strong relationships through regular engagement and high‑quality advice. You will play a key part in leading the development and negotiation of technology contracts, while also providing practical, commercially focused guidance on procurement, privacy and data‑related matters.
Our IPTC practice operates at the critical intersection of law and technology, helping clients navigate complex issues with confidence. We advise a broad portfolio of Australian organisations, government entities, and global businesses servicing the Australian market, providing practical, commercially focused solutions to protect sensitive information and meet evolving privacy and regulatory obligations.
About you
You’re a motivated, insightful practitioner looking to take the next step in your IPTC career where you can also mentor and develop the broader team. This opportunity will suit someone wanting to grow and contribute to the practice alongside the Partner.
We think you’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have Senior Associate or Special Counsel experience within Intellectual Property, Technology and Cyber Security Law
- Have strong technical expertise with a mindset of continuous growth and learning
- Are able to communicate with clarity and authenticity to a variety of audiences
- Have a proactive approach to business development, relationship building and maintaining a strong external profile (knowing you will be supported by our internal Business Development & Marketing team)
- Have excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with sound judgement in complex or time‑sensitive matters
- Have experience and interest in supervising, mentoring or coaching junior lawyers
