About The Role
Join our Perth-based Resources & Energy team, advising on complex energy transition matters including decarbonisation initiatives, renewable energy developments and emerging technologies. You will work closely with a highly regarded Partner and a supportive, collaborative team delivering practical, commercial advice to leading Australian and international clients.
In this role, you will draft and negotiate key project and commercial documents, manage matters day-to-day with appropriate supervision, and support the team across a diverse pipeline of work including:
- Decarbonisation and emissions reduction
projects for major Australian companies
- Renewable energy projects including
grid-connected solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS), as well as
remote hybrid systems for mining operations
- New technology trials and demonstration
projects, including international collaborations across battery minerals and
hydrogen
- Development projects involving Traditional
Owner groups, including renewable energy for data centres and export-focused
green hydrogen and ammonia initiatives
- Regulatory advice and assessment of evolving
industry frameworks as the energy transition progresses
- Support on broader team matters across mining
and oil and gas, including due diligence, contracting and project support
About You
You are an experienced and motivated Senior Associate who enjoys working on complex matters, building strong client relationships and contributing to a supportive, collaborative team environment. You will also bring:
- At least five years’ post-admission experience
- Well-developed drafting and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver strong client outcomes
- Experience in a projects or commercial team at an Australian or international law firm (energy transition or broader energy exposure is advantageous)
- Some experience providing regulatory advice and/or working within regulated markets
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with a commitment to mentoring and supporting junior lawyers
- Motivation to expand your knowledge and expertise across new industries and technologies
- Ability to build trusted client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness and professional insight
