About Us
With offices in Perth and Brisbane and approximately 300 partners and employees, HopgoodGanim is known for delivering exceptional client service and outcomes across key markets. Regularly featured in Doyle’s Guide and The Best Lawyers, we are a firm where people are encouraged to be their authentic selves and supported to grow and develop their legal careers.
About the Vacation Clerkship Program
The 4-week clerkship with HopgoodGanim is tailored to law students in their penultimate year of study during 2026 and graduating during 2027. You will be embedded in two of our practice groups and have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of our senior practitioners and partners.
Coinciding with university breaks, the 4-week HopgoodGanim clerkships will run from:
- 23 November 2026 to 18 December 2026 (Summer 1)
- 18 January 2027 to 12 February 2027 (Summer 2)
- 5 April 2027 to 30 April 2027 (Autumn)
Students who complete a 2026/27 clerkship with HopgoodGanim will then have the opportunity to apply for our two-year graduate program, commencing 2028.
About You
While we are market leading, we are unique in our culture and focus each day on living our values ‘the HG Way’, delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients, people and community. You will share this passion and be ready to roll your sleeves up and commence your legal career. In addition to strong academic results, we value applications from people who have had practical exposure to the work environment (any work environment), extra-curricular activities, and/or opportunities to develop your leadership, teamwork, time management and communication skills.
If you are someone who takes their work seriously but not themselves, someone who looks for solutions rather than problems and someone who never says, ‘that’s not part of my job’, then HopgoodGanim is the right firm for you. Here, you won’t just be a small piece in a big machine; you will be a key part of the team.
