Scene Planner – DEANO (2D Animated Series) – Expression of Interest

Hooligan Animation is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Scene Planners to join the team on the 2D animated series DEANO. This role is suited to artists who excel at interpreting storyboards and preparing clear, production-ready scene layouts for animation workflows.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Break down storyboards into clear, workable scene plans for animation
• Define staging, character positioning and shot continuity
• Prepare scene files for downstream animation production
• Ensure consistency in timing, action flow and visual clarity
• Collaborate with storyboard, layout and animation teams
• Maintain strict file naming conventions and production workflows
• Deliver work to production deadlines and quotas

Requirements

• Experience in scene planning, layout or animation production pipelines
• Strong understanding of staging, continuity and visual storytelling
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and CelAction
• Ability to interpret storyboards into clear production instructions
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment

Production Pipeline

• Scene plans act as the foundation for layout and animation stages
• Work closely with directors and production teams to ensure clarity and continuity
• Maintain organised files and version control throughout production

• This role is fully studio-based at our Brisbane studio.
