Summary:

Hooligan Animation is seeking talented Background Designers to join the team on the 2D animated series DEANO.

This contract role is suited to mid–senior level artists passionate about creating engaging environments that support visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

Create high-quality background artwork for 2D animated scenes
Collaborate with directors and artists to achieve the show’s visual style
Maintain consistency across designs and episodes
Revise artwork based on creative feedback
Deliver work to production deadlines and quality standards
Adhere to strict studio file naming conventions and production workflows

Requirements

Experience in 2D animation background design
Strong portfolio showcasing environment and layout work
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
Strong understanding of colour, composition and perspective
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
Strong communication and time management skills

Location

This role is fully studio-based at our Brisbane studio.
